REIJU (TRADITIONAL SPIRITUAL INITIATION) AND ITS IMPORTANCE FOR REIKI PRACTITIONERS

Reiki is a practice that addresses the mind, body and spirit being a combination of esoteric principles that were representative in Japan in the last century, namely: principles of traditional Chinese medicine, energy transfer methods, spiritual teachings and specific initiations originating in Tendai Buddhism. and methods of controlling energy from the Shinto tradition.

The founder of this original system, sensei Mikao Usui, capitalized on all these tendencies in a unique way that allows anyone to be permanently connected to the source of healing energy without the need for a long period of spiritual practice.

Even more, sensei Mikao Usui has learned to transmit this spiritual ability to other people to this day through a typical method known only to Reiki Masters as REIJU.

The blessing of the spirit.

Reiju is a word of Japanese origin consisting of two kanji ideograms:

  • Rei with the meaning of Spirit and Ju with the meaning of path or road together having the meaning "Path to Spirit".

The first kanji means spirit, soul or respect, depending on the context in which it is used. The second ideogram called Ju has the meaning of notifying, notifying, instructing, informing, authorizing, or giving permission.

Reiju can be interpreted as both "accepting spirituality" and "giving spirituality" indicating a spiritual transfer of knowledge or an authorization of spiritual knowledge in the sense of its use.

The first public information promulgated in the West about Reiju was revealed by sensei Hiroshi Doi at the Vancouver Canada Reiki Masters Conference in 1999. Sensei Doi offered Reiju to everyone present but did not describe the exact procedure for performing it. He explained that Reiju was received by Japanese Reiki students at weekly meetings called Shyokai where Hatsura Ho - the method of generating a strong flow of energy - was practiced, and at the end of it, the students meditated for a few moments. This was the moment when the master gave the initiation to each of those present. Through this weekly training and their own practice, students' ability to conduct Reiki was significantly increased.

Reiju is the original Japanese spiritual way in which students are given access to the source of energy, and they are connected to it for the rest of their lives. Reiju can be described using kanji ideograms in two different ways, each meaning something completely different.
Thus Reiju can suggest both “accepting spirituality” and “giving spirituality.” In the small circles of Japanese Reiki masters, Reiju is recognized as the “gift of the 5 blessings”.

Reiju is the method used by Japanese Reiki masters in Usui Reiki Gakkai through which the ability to use the universal life force is offered to the student at every meeting with his master. Reiju is a spiritual attunement, a direct, direct connection of each with his own spirit.

Reiju not only establishes the student's connection to the Reiki energy source, but also strengthens that connection, increasing his ability to use Reiki.
Receiving a single Reiju is not enough to develop the strength and power of Reiki, although a single Reiju is all that is needed for one to practice Reiki. To progress on the spiritual path you will need to receive multiple Reiju regularly, practice daily Hatsu Rei Ho or other Reiki techniques, and apply the principles of Reiki in daily life.

Offering and receiving Reiju is a regular, typical, basic practice of the meetings that the Reiki master has with the students, all those present receiving countless spiral initiations of this kind. This is the key to maximizing the ability to perform techniques in which intuition plays a major role, such as Reiji Ho.

Japanese Reiki students had to wait up to 10 years before developing the ability to practice Reiji Ho (intuitive treatment) or Byonsen Reikan Ho (scanning), which allowed them to move on to the next level. These skills were the indicator that the student was ready for the next step.

Once they had access to level two - Okuden - they continued to receive Reiju as a basic practice, but in a different form from the previous one.

Personally, I adopted a method that gave results in modern living conditions. Students who have taken my courses can come to resume the course without having to pay the full price again. I pay only a special price which is 100 RON for the two-day course and 150 RON for the three-day course. This way I can benefit from Reiju whenever I feel the need for a strong reconnection to the Source and an update of knowledge!

In conclusion, I wish you a pleasant and fruitful practice in knowing and developing harmoniously towards your superior potential.
